The Applied Engineering and Technology program offers a range of courses intended to provide students with the opportunity to develop hands-on experiences and skills needed to pursue further or higher education in different engineering disciplines. In addition to developing an understanding of the industry, students will learn to refine their skills in problem-solving, teamwork and communication. The program also provides students with structured, well-designed courses to ensure that they gain practical knowledge and maker-based learning experiences that​focus on modern, state-of-the-art technologies and are designed to best serve the engineering industry.​

Upon the successful completion of the program, students will be able to pursue qualifications in Engineering Technology or a four-year degree program in relevant sectors, such as Electrical, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering.​

The Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 seeks to develop the capacity of the UAE to become a leading telecommunications hub for the Middle East. All aspects of society and daily life currently rely on information provided through computer networks. As a result, professionals with IT and networking skills are in short supply worldwide. There is growing demand in areas encompassing both wired and wireless services, including high-density data transmission which forms the basis of network technology.​

​The Computer Networks program introduces students to various aspects of computer networks such as protocols, transmission media, network architecture, hardware and operating systems. Students will study network maintenance, network security, network administration and troubleshooting. Computer networks is a distinguished specialization in UAE universities.​

Upon the successful completion of the program, students are offered a stream in computer networks, Khalifa University offers subjects that include various aspects of networking, and Zayed University offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a concentration on Security and Network Technologies.​
